Fila Master Treatment Specialists are often called on to carry out important work also outside Italy. This is the case with the splendid project completed by Master Treatment Specialist Roberto Rossetto (from the company Euganea Trattamenti), in a private residence in the Beşiktaş district, in the centre of Istanbul, with views over the natural port of the Golden Horn.
A new build where various kinds of very fine, delicate Italian stone have been laid, requiring attentive, expert care: Vicenza Giallo Dorato stone, Vicenza Grigio stone, Marquina black marble and Carrara Statuario marble.
The Vicenza Stone was pretreated with FILAPRW200 before laying to protect it from possible stains during installation. After laying, it was first thoroughly washed with FILAPS87 then rinsed with FILACLEANER.
The clean dry floor was then given a stain proof, dirt-repellent treatment with natural finish by applying one coat of FILAW68 (stain protector) followed by one coat of FILAJET (dirt-repellent protector) and finally one of FILAMATT (natural-effect finishing wax).
In damp rooms, such as the Turkish bath and spa zone, the Marquina black marble was treated with Hydrorep and Salvaterrazza: two water-repellent protectors that prevent potential infiltrations and damage caused by damp without altering the material’s appearance.
Whereas Carrara Statuario Marble in the hammam was protected with FILAMP90, the stain protector for polished stone.
The outdoor surfaces in local acid-resistant grey stone were washed with Deterdek and FILAW68 stain proof treatment was applied.
Still outside, there was also an area of decking, treated with FILAPRO130 protective base oil.
