The orthodox church of San Victor the Warrior in Kotelniki is 20 kilometres from Moscow and a team of 3 FILA treatment specialists carried out two projects to restore its splendid marble floors, in June 2011 and November 2013.
The surface area of around 150-180 m² Yellow Marble, Red Verona Marble and Verde Guatemala (Green) Marble was stained with stubborn dirt, candle wax, residues of epoxy grouting and epoxy putty, used for fitting brass elements , and the marble had lost its shine.
The floor was first washed and degreased with FILAPS87 wax removing degreasing detergent. In some areas, mainly near the candleholders, FILANO SPOT Stain removing spray was used to eliminate the wax absorbed by the marble. Given that the church could not be closed for 24 hours, FILAMP90 protector was used for stain proof treatment only on critical areas with a risk of staining. The final job was restoring the original splendour of the marble with FILAKRISTALL marble crystallizer.
All the elements in brass were also cleaned and polished with FILAFEBOL.
