Impossible marks on your porcelain tile floor? Solve the problem with FILA products

We have already reiterated how important it is to clean after installation, to ensure that our floors are always clean and free from residues.
Porcelain tiles are the most frequently used materials for floors, because they are very practical to wash, but if not adequately cleaned, they can easily get dirty. The tiles in fact often have a fine layer of residual grouting or concrete, which can only be eliminated with specific products that do not harm the material.

DETERDEK is the ideal product for cleaning floors that were not thoroughly cleaned after installation or that have only recently been installed. Thanks to its acid-based formula, it effectively removes building site dirt without harming metal profiles.
Let’s take a look at how to use it properly: first wet the floors, then dilute DETERDEK in water and apply this solution a few metres at a time, waiting 2-3 minutes and then rubbing hard with a flat brush. At this point, the floor can be rinsed with plenty of water.

If your surface has tiles with epoxy grouting, use FILACR10, the cleaner for epoxy residues ideal for wall coverings and floors in porcelain and glazed ceramic tiles and glass mosaics. Its viscous formula makes it the ideal product for washing vertical surfaces and it also works on larger, old residues.

How to use

Shake before use, then brush one coat of product over the area in question. Allow the product to work for about 30 minutes, then rub the surface with a brush. At this point, rinse with a wet sponge and the job is done.

  1. I have porcelain tile floors throughout my home … It has been a problem to clean them from day one about 5 years ago. Mopping leaves them cloudy and streaked. Dogs come in we dry their feet at door still there damp feet makes prints on floor. Our feet prints show on floor … our dog drools we try to wipe up , make big smearing mess … the best we can do is try to blot a spot to not make smears . From the start of our new floor we have found it impossible to keep it clean looking. We quickly bought a floor cleaning machine a few years ago. Yes it cleans it nicely until the dog drools or comes in with damp (cleaned) feet and walks on it. Why is it allowed to sell porcelain for floors ? I so wish I was not stuck with this impossible floor. Would sealing the floor help? I’m not looking for another cleaning method I’m looking for a way to fix this dust sucking water spotting, footprint keeping tile floor … I hope you can help … Thanks

      1. I have the exact same problem. The tile company says it’s something I am doing. I wash the floor and have tried everything. Water, Water and Vinegar, Water and Baking Soda, Sulfmaric Acid…..A steamer, hand washing. My hands are raw from cleaning this matte porcelain floor. After cleaning with anything: the floors are clean but dog prints and foot prints remain. You can see them in the light when looking at the tile from an angle. We just put in this floor 3 months ago and I am at my witts end with raw hands. PLEASE help.

        1. Good Morning Paula,

regarding your request, we could suggest to proceed with the following cleaning operations:

          1. First cleaning with PS87 PRO, an alkaline detergent. It will remove all the organic residues located on the floor. Diluted the product at ratio 1:10 in water (500ml of product in 5 liters of water). Spread it on the floor, fer meters a time, and leave it to act for 5 minutes. Then work the area with an abrasive scotch brite sponge or a brush. Collect the residues and rinse with water.
Do not use on polished new marbles. waxed floor, plastic surfaces or varnished floor. Test it always before the use.

          2. After this cleaning, proceed with a second passage with DETERDEK PRO, an acid detergent. It will remove the inorganic residues that create halos and stain on the floor. Diluted the product at ratio 1:5 in water (1liter of product in 5 liters of water). Spread it on the floor, fer meters a time, and leave it to act for 2 3 minutes. Then work the area with an abrasive scotch brite sponge or a brush. Collect the residues and rinse with water.
Do not use on marble, natural stone or sensitive to acid materials. Test it always before the use.

          3. In order to maintain the surface clean after the initial cleaning, we suggest to use always neutral detergent like CLEANER PRO. Dilute 3 cups of product in 5 liters of water. Wet a cloth with the solution, squeeze it and pass it on the floor.

In case of necessary we remain at your disposal,
          Kindest regards
          Elisa

  2. I have a porcelain tile floor that I recently treated with an anti slip product. That product had a 7% hydrofluoric acid base. When the treatment dried there were like 1/ 2 inch droplets stains on some of my tiles. I have tried everything I can think of to rid the tiles of thoses stains with no success. Can you help, do you have a product that can permanently dissolve/ remove theses stains?

    2. I have a polished porcelain floor that has been laid for about 7 years. For the past 2 years there have been hazy areas shown up by natural light in the area where we walk the most. These areas that look very dull in natural light but not so bad in electric light. I have used a magic sponge on these areas to see if I could improve them, but this has made the whole tile area dull and hazy rather than just the area where we walk. Have I now damaged the tile using the magic sponge, only lightly, no scrubbing. I have using Flash floor cleaner over the years also, and I now know this is not good for the tile. Is there anything I can do?
